Fidget Quilts: Weaving

Fidget Quilt index

Vertical strips are sewn to the backing at both ends. The horizontal strips are sewn on one side and rounded at the other end for weaving.

Materials:

• Basic backing block Something medium size print would work well.
• Make 4 heavy lengthwise strips ¾”x 8.5” in a solid color.
• Make 5 heavy crosswise strips ¾”x 7.5” in a contrasting color

Instructions:

1. Arrange lengthwise (long) strips evenly spaced on the backing.
2. Stitch in place at both ends within the 1/2" seam allowance
3. Round one end of the short strips.
4. Arrange vertical (short) strips evenly spaced on the backing.
5. Stitch in place at the square end, leaving the short end free for weaving.

Notes:

• You can either use heavy material for the strips, or make heavy strips by layering a back color, double sided iron on adhesive, and the front.
